UPDATE: Audigy hearing aids are no longer locked and can be adjusted by most independent hearing care providers. I have removed my video from YouTube since the information contained within the video was no longer accurate. Stay tuned for future updates on Audigy and AGX.

AGX Hearing Aids Brand Review

There isn't a lot of information on the AGX brand of hearing aids when you do a simple google search.  In fact, the only place you may find info on the AGX brand is on the AGX Hearing Website:  https://www.AGXHearing.com  AGX isn't a hearing aid manufacturer.  They do not make their own hearing aids.  AGX is a rebranding of several different hearing aid brands, which are only available for sale in Audigy Group practices. Audigy Group is a practice management group.  They help hearing aid clinics run their business by providing office management help, and also act as a hearing aid buying group.  Having worked in an audiology practice, I was able to get an inside look at what the AGX brand is.

AGX devices are rebranded devices from ReSound, Starkey, Signia, Widex, and Oticon.  Each of these manufacturers make their own hearing devices and replace their brand name with the AGX brand. Below are the current models (as of the writing of this update, March 2024).

AGXO (Oticon)

The AGXO, based on the Oticon Intent, represents the forefront of Oticon's approach to sound processing and hearing support. Oticon Intent leverages Oticon's BrainHearing technology, designed to support the brain's natural process of making sense of sound. It offers a more natural listening experience, reducing listening effort and improving speech understanding even in challenging listening environments. Features include a deep neural network (DNN) trained on millions of sound scenes for more precise sound analysis and enhancement, rechargeable options for all-day power, and connectivity features that allow users to stream directly from smartphones and TVs.

AGXR (Resound)

The AGXR, mirroring the Resound Nexia, is all about creating a rich, natural hearing experience tailored to the user's environment. Resound Nexia integrates advanced sound processing technology to offer clear and vibrant sound quality. It boasts features such as direct audio streaming from iOS and Android devices, a rechargeable solution that ensures a day's worth of hearing without the need to change batteries, and personalized hearing experiences through the Resound Smart 3D app. Its focus on connectivity and user-centric design makes it a versatile choice for users seeking seamless integration with their digital life.

AGXS (Starkey)

Starkey Genesis, rebranded as AGXS, focuses on providing not just superior sound quality but also advanced health tracking capabilities. It is Starkey's most innovative hearing aid, offering features like Edge Mode for instantaneous adjustments in challenging listening environments, fall detection and alerts, and activity tracking. Genesis uses AI technology to optimize the hearing experience in real-time and supports direct streaming from both iOS and Android devices. Its emphasis on health and wellness, alongside hearing support, positions it as a comprehensive solution for users looking to manage their hearing health proactively.

AGXW (Widex)

The AGXW, based on the Widex Moment, challenges the traditional sound of hearing aids by introducing ZeroDelay Technology, which aims to deliver a more natural sound than ever before. Widex Moment is known for its ability to process sound faster, reducing the artificial sound quality that can occur in other hearing aids. It also features a range of smart, automatic adjustments to suit different listening environments, rechargeable batteries, and the Widex PureSound program, which delivers a more natural listening experience. The Widex Moment is tailored for users who prioritize sound quality and a natural hearing experience.

AGXSi (Signia)

Rebranded as AGXSi, the Signia IX is at the cutting edge of hearing aid technology, designed to offer a highly personalized hearing experience. The Signia IX features Signia's Augmented Xperience platform, which uses an acoustic-motion sensor to understand the wearer's environment and adjust sounds accordingly, enhancing speech while background noise is actively managed. It offers Own Voice Processing (OVP) for a more natural perception of the wearer's voice, rechargeable options, and direct streaming from iOS and Android devices. Signia IX is ideal for users looking for a customized, adaptable hearing solution.
