Wearing Hearing Aids or a Cochlear Implant Through Airport Security (TSA)

Video transcript

Video transcript

Traveling through the airport can be a nerve-racking experience for someone who has hearing aids.  Not only are they loud, but there is always the question of whether or not TSA security will hassle you if you wear your hearing aids through the metal detector.  Hearing aids and Cochlear Implants can both be worn thorough Airport Security.  They will not set off the metal detector and TSA agents will not give you problems if you wear them through the security line.  In fact, it is important to wear your hearing devices so you can hear the agents if they ask you questions.  Rechargeable hearing aid battery packs also don't cause any issues in your carry-on luggage.  Just don't try to get a full water bottle through security.
